Choosing the Right Cycling Bicycle is not so Simple

Many differing options are available to you as you look to purchase a bicycle. Choosing their next bicycle is difficult, even for professional riders. All the varieties and options make it really hard to buy a new bike. Imagine the future: how safe, comfy and stylish do you need the bike to be. How far will you ride and where will you be riding? Keeping on top of all the new ideas coming out with bicycling, as well as choosing between the old options, makes choosing a bike hard. Opting for the correct bike for you is as easy as using these simple criteria.

You want to first and foremost, ensure that you are able to come to a stop on your bicycle, and the key to that is selecting a bicycle that allows you to rest your feet flat on the ground, when you are sitting on the seat. There are some people that say this isn't the best way to choose, though. They say that it is better to give yourself a few inches between your feet and the ground to create a more comfortable cycling experience. If your feet are sitting flat on the ground while your butt is on the seat, this usually means that the seat is too close to the crossbar and will need to be adjusted for comfort. This is because when you are pedaling with this bike, your knees are going to come up too high.

For a road bike you should take away 9" from the inseam measurement you took earlier. This is because of the size of the tires on your road bike. City riding is done with thin tires, designed to work perfectly with the smooth concrete roads and sidewalks you find in a city. You will want to subtract 12" for a mountain bike. The tires on a mountain bike are not the same as a road bike. Mountain bike tires will be thick and designed for mountainous terrain. You can use mountain bikes for city cycling, but the opposite is not true and they are nowhere near as good on city streets as road bikes.

Another essential element in a comfortable cycling experience is the angle of the seat(also known as the saddle). Bicycles can be tilted in internet a number of ways. Most people find a seat that is flat to be a bit too uncomfortable, so they tilt it the way that feels the best. Find the position that will be most comfortable to you, and stick with it. You can always leave the seat in the position it is in, but you will most likely find it to be very uncomfortable to ride.

You will see there are many things you should consider when you are finding the bike that's right for you. There are so many different bicycles and accessories available that it can feel overwhelming as you try to decide which items are best for you. As long as you go prepared and know what you need and are looking for, you can shed some of that frustration and find the perfect bike.
